These wise words are fairly inspirational:
To laugh often and much,
To win the respect of intelligent people,
and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics,
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty;
To find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better,
whether by a healthy child, a garden patch...
To know even one life has breathed
easier because you have lived;
This is to have succeeded!

RWE's one of my favorites. Thanks for articulating this--it's pretty much my unofficial mantra.
:-)
Greetings from PHilly.
I found your blog via Noa's blog. I want to compliment you on having the courage to talk openly about your bipolar issues. There are so many people out there who are bipolar or suffer from depression -- the more people like you bring it to the surface, the more one can hope society will stop their stupid notions about mental illnesses. I like the poem. Sorry about your bipolarness. I still like the poem though.
